Dave Conley makes his first appearance on the survey. He was one of the original deejays at archrival Ten-Q when they debuted their Top 40 format in December 1976. Dave passed away in 2005.

Conley was also a KCBQ, San Diego jock...afternoon drive from about '72-'74, as I recall.
Conley was clever and fun, two things he was not allowed to do on this iteration of KHJ.
Dave Conley was already a legend at KCBQ when I was an intern there. Gary Kelley told me some years later that he had died homeless under a bridge. I almost cried. What a talent.
