A shame KHJ didn't have a Big 93 for 1969, and it didn't do one for 1971.

Two differences I see on this 1970 roundup from the earlier Big 93s: First, there are no album cuts or B sides. Second, there are some December songs on it, including the current No. 1, "My Sweet Lord." Past Big 93s didn't include December records, which I always thought was unfair.

I remember that one day, they expanded the list to 100 songs. I remember #100 being Cecilia by Simon & Garfunkel and #99 being For The Good Times by Ray Price but I don't remember what positions #94-#98 were.

Here is #94-#98 when KHJ expanded the Big 93 to 100 songs:
94. He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother - Hollies
95. You Don't Have to Say You Love Me - Elvis Presley
96. Montego Bay - Bobby Bloom
97. Indiana Wants Me - R. Dean Taylor
98. Make Me Smile - Chicago

The weekend of April 27-29th, 1973, KHJ expanded the Big 93 hits from 1968 to 1972 to 100 songs for each year. I remember listening for much of that weekend.

1971 was the year that all the drake stations did "the sound of '71" a weekend long retrospective of all 1971 songs, but not numbered. KGB,KHJ,WOR-FM and other RKO stations did things a little different that year.
