Did they do this again, at least once? I have an aircheck that I have labelled as Feb 15, 1971, at about the 48:15 mark where The Real Don Steele mentions that "this broadcast is being recorded ........... for the men and women of our Armed Forces around the world". It is right before "For All We Know" by the Carpenters, which was a 1971 record, so the date sounds about right.
The aircheck you mention is from V-Disc '71. There's a picture of Steele with the LP cover on survey No. 300. I'll also post an image of the cover when the time comes.
