I agree that this survey is loaded with wonderful songs. Lots of variety.
"Neanderthal Man" is a perfect title for that song. It's quirky but I'm a sucker for just about anything with a beat. And who would've thought that you could have a hit song where the entire lyrics consist of: I'm a Neanderthal man You're a Neanderthal girl Let's make Neanderthal love In this Neanderthal world

Every song that debuts this week is terrific, even the odd "Neanderthal Man."
Susan Jacks' great voice is on "That's Where I Went Wrong."
"We've Only Just Begun" is one of the Carpenters' best singles. It still sounds lovely.
"Rainbow" is a forgotten gem.
"Out in the Country" is, like "We've Only Just Begun," written by Paul Williams.
And of course, the Jackson 5 continue their incredible first year with their biggest hit, "I'll Be There."
I like just about every song on this Boss 30. I'm being reminded just how good a year for pop music 1970 was.
