"Let It Be" drops off and is replaced by "The Long and Winding Road / For You Blue," the last Beatles single released when they were still a functioning unit. Or maybe that's not quite true, since Paul McCartney had announced the previous month that he was leaving the group, which effectively broke it up.

I still my double LP of "Sounds of the Sixties," which is promoted on this survey.

In case anyone in the other 49 1/2 states is wondering, "Viva Tirado" by El Chicano was an absolute monster in Southern California. The instrumental jam was the biggest Latino hit in L.A. since "El Watusi" by Ray Barretto hit #1 on both KRLA and KFWB exactly seven years earlier. I don't believe these songs received anywhere near the amount of airplay in most parts of the country as they did in Los Angeles.

I was living in the Philadelphia area at the time, and I never heard "Viva Tirado" on WFIL or WIBG. Another song they neglected to play was "My Little Green Bag". Fortunately I came back to the Greater Boss Angeles area later that year, in time to enjoy Robert W, Morgan for a few weeks before he went to Chicago.
