Issue #268 - Edwin Starr’s “War” is the second of four No. 1 songs on KHJ for the songwriting team of Barrett Strong and Norman Whitfield. Their first was “I Heard It Through The Grapevine” by Marvin Gaye and they would later score with “Just My Imagination” by the Temptations and “Smiling Faces Sometimes” by the Undisputed Truth.
