"Instant Karma" marks the first solo Beatle single to reach the Boss 30, even though the group hadn't officially broken up yet.

Tony Burrows is the voice of Edison Lighthouse on "Love Grows (Where My Rosemary Goes)." Later this year he'll return with "My Baby Loves Lovin' " as White Plains and "United We Stand" as Brotherhood of Man.

"Reflections of My Life" by The Marmalade would get the nod as my favorite debut of the week, followed closely by The Friends of Distinction and The First Edition.

And I liked them all, too. "Reflections of My Life" is another record that I didn't like as much when it was new but really grew on me in later years. And it did much better nationally than it would do on KHJ.
