Smith's second and last KHJ charter has a male singer; the previous hit, its cover of "Baby It's You," was sung by Gayle McCormick, who would chart in 1971 as a solo artist with "It's a Cryin' Shame."
Boy, the words at the bottom of the 5th Dimension ad sure shows how things have changed. It notes their albums are on records, cartridge and cassettes.
Although it didn't have as much success, I much preferred "Take a Look Around" to "Baby It's You." "It's A Cryin' Shame" was a gem.
This survey is loaded with great stuff from top to bottom.
Don't forget, Steve...the "5th Dimension Month" promo I assume was pretty much the effort of Soul City Records (owned by Johnny Rivers). The group had left, and at this time their first release was coming out on their new label, Bell Records (a division of Columbia Pictures).
I prefer "Baby It's You". It is an incredible single.
