"Mind, Body and Soul" is a fine soul single with a great-sounding fuzz electric guitar that comes in during the later verses.
"Jingle Jangle" sounds nothing like "Sugar, Sugar," since Ron Dante isn't singing lead. Rather, it's a woman -- Toni Wine, I assume. Or should I say "Veronica"?
Holland-Dozier-Holland showed they still had it post-Motown with the Flaming Ember. I was disappointed the group didn't last longer than it did. I also don't know what the rest of the country was thinking. Three solid songs that went to No. 12 ("Mind, Body and Soul"), No. 3 ("Westbound #9"), and No. 6 (I'm Not My Brother's Keeper") on the Boss 30 only went to No, 26, No, 24, and No. 34 respectively on Billboard. That is hard for me to believe.
Plus, how cool is the name Flaming Ember?
Yeah, SoCal was definitely more friendly to the band than the rest of the nation.
