The debut of "Born on the Bayou" by Creedence marks the latest single to have its B side flipped over by KHJ to become a hit on its own. Later in the year, we'll see "Laughing" and then "Undun" by the Guess Who pull the same feat. This always surprised me; I mean, didn't the people who had bought "Proud Mary" realize they already HAD "Born on the Bayou"? But I know airplay accounted for placement on the Boss 30, too.

Have Mercy, Charley Wright and his band debut all the way up at #15.
