"Signs" was one of my favorite songs of the year. It reaches its peak this week at No. 2.

In my neighborhood, we all liked to say "long-haired freaky people" that summer.

The Concert for Bangla Desh happened in New York the previous week. I was surprised that the single "Bangla-Desh" didn't hang around long, though. Maybe it was too gloomy for most listeners.

"All My Trials" is a Hitbound that won't make the Thirty.

I keep meaning to ask about the "million-dollar" Sundays that show up on the Thirty lists. I'd forgotten -- were those all oldies or a mix of old and new?

No horses hearing were harmed during the photo shoot of this week's "Thirty".

Unless those were Steele's headphones.

Steve: The Million-dollar Sundays did play currents...no sense in cannibalizing KHJ-FM, which by this point had gone to "Solid Gold Rock N' Roll" from "Hitparade" (and in four months would become K-Earth).
